On December 18, 2019, at the 38th CRIA Secretary-Generals’ Meeting, it was learned that as of the end of October, CRIA had issued 207 tire labels.
CRIA has been actively promoting the implementation process of China’s tire labeling system so as to promote the industrialization of China’s green tires, accelerate the tire industry’s transformation and upgrading and product structure adjustment; reduce carbon dioxide emission, promote tire manufacturing enterprises to choose environmentally friendly and non-toxic raw materials, and promote the pace of cleaner production; improve the quality level of China’s tires, and show consumers the performance of tire product and the traceability of label itself. In March 2014, CRIA released China’s first group standard of Green Tire Technical Specifications; in June, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the subject of Research on Tire Labeling System to China Rubber Industry Association. Based on the completion of research on this subject, CRIA organized and set the Tire Classification Standard and Tire Label Management Regulations, which were formally implemented on September 15, 2016.
As of the end of October 2019, a total of 59 enterprises had registered enterprise information on the reporting platform, 28 enterprises had obtained tire labels, and CRIA had issued a total of 207 tire labels, covering C1, C2 and C3 types of tires, with a total of 1,274 specifications. Hereinto, there are 99 C1 tire labels, 12 C2 tire labels, and 96 C3 tire labels.
