Top 10 News on China Rubber Industry in 2018 - No. 4: Factories Were Built Overseas and Pace of Globalization Was Accelerated

  In 2018, Chinese rubber enterprises stepped up their pace heading overseas, and many enterprises announced to build factories overseas to promote globalization. On April 22, Triangle Tyre held a Triangle Tyre (USA) Technologies LLC Launch in Weihai, announcing an investment of USD 580 Million to build a “Smart Factory” with an annual production of 6 million radial tires in North Carolina, US. On July 5, the opening ceremony of HCPI (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was held in Rayong Industrial Park, Thailand, with the plan to build five production lines for isolating membrane and feeding bag. On August 20, Linglong Tire announced that it would invest USD 990 Million to build a plant with an annual production capacity of 13.62 million high-performance radial tire according to intelligent production line standards in Serbia. On September 17, Jiangsu General announced that it planned to build a project with an annual production capacity of 1 million all-steel tires and 6 million semi-steel tires in Rayong Industrial Park, Thailand. On October 9, Halead (Vietnam), the subsidiary corporation of Zhejiang Halead, completed its registration, planning to invest USD 155 Million to build a project with an annual production capacity of 110,000-ton differentiated polyester industrial filament. On November 12, Quechen Silicon Chemical decided to increase capital to its Quechen Silicon (Thailand) company by USD 15 Million for the construction and operation of white carbon black production line. On December 12, Sailun (Vietnam) signed a joint venture contract with Cooper Vietnam, holding 65% of the joint venture company to build an all-steel tire project of 2.4 million per year in Vietnam. On December 18, Xingda Europe, the wholly-owned subsidiary company of Jiangsu Xingda, opened in Luxembourg. On December 25, Prinx Chengshan announced that it had reached an agreement with a Thai developer to purchase 433,600 to 480,000 square meters of land in Chonburi, Thailand to build a tire production base.
