Changzhou, October 25, 2018 – ARLANXEO, a world-leading synthetic rubber company, recently signed three-year cooperation agreements with Changzhou University and Changzhou Vocational Institute of Engineering (CZIE). Working in tandem with its partners, ARLANXEO will contribute to the development of Changzhou and the local chemical industry by providing optimized education and practical trainings to aspiring, young professionals.

Through its commitment of being a responsible corporate citizen, ARLANXEO focuses on developing, attracting and retaining talents. China is one of ARLANXEO’s key strategic markets, where Changzhou represents a particularly important region as it houses ARLANXEO’s advanced EPDM plant as well as its state-of-the-art Rubber Technology Center.

Changzhou University is an academic leader in energy and chemistry, having been ranked in the top 1% in the Essential Science Indicators (ESI) rankings for its chemistry and materials sciences research fields. On October 22, Changzhou University officially hired three technical experts from ARLANXEO as part-time tutors. ARLANXEO also presented scholarships and grants for 50 high-performing student representatives.

Vice President of Changzhou University, Jiang Bibiao, stated that “We look forward to working with ARLANXEO to deepen our students’ understanding of current advancements, production processes, and operations in the chemicals and material industries, cultivating talents for China’s industrial upgrading.”

The two parties will cooperate in the following areas:

• Scholarships and grants: ARLANXEO will provide high-performing Changzhou University students with scholarships, and disadvantaged students with grants annually.
• Summer internships: ARLANXEO will provide month-long, summer internships to Changzhou University students to enhance their practical skills and deepen their knowledge.
• Plant tours: Students can experience firsthand ARLANXEO’s corporate culture and its production processes as well as industrial health, safety, and environmental standards through plant tours.
• Part-time tutors: ARLANXEO's technical experts aid student’s studies and research by serving as tutors outside of school.
• Expert lectures: ARLANXEO's technical experts will offer seminars discussing leading technologies and synthetic rubber industry trends.

As a leading provider of vocational education, CZIE has educated numerous young professionals in Changzhou. On October 24, representatives from CZIE and ARLANXEO unveiled the Students' Practice Base for Innovation & Entrepreneurship and the Quality Employment Base and launched the ARLANXEO Class.

• Plant tour: Students can experience firsthand ARLANXEO’s corporate culture and its production processes as well as industrial health, safety, and environmental standards through plant tours.
• The ARLANXEO Class: ARLANXEO will hold ARLANXEO Class at CZIE, offering courses that cover chemical engineering, high performance elastomers, and production operations taught by 7 technical experts from ARLANXEO.
• Scholarships: Every year ARLANXEO will provide scholarships for students in the ARLANXEO Class with exceptional academic performance.
