With deliberation of the Customs Tariff Commission of the State Council and declaration to the State Council for approval, China has made partial adjustments to import and export tariffs since January 1, 2018.
Among which, temporary tariff rates are determined for 948 imported products, including 27 ones related to the rubber industry, see attached list.
In order to promote the “Belt and Road” and the construction of free trade zones, China adopts conventional tariff rates for some imported products native to 26 countries and regions. Among them, the free trade agreement between China and Georgia starts to be implemented in 2018, involving products such as rubber hoses, sealing rings and rubber shoes. The free trade agreements that China has signed with Pakistan, South Korea, Switzerland, Peru and Australia see further tariff cuts. The products involving import tariff cuts include carbon black, rubber chemicals, rubber and rubber products, rubber shoes, etc.
