On December 28, 2017, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held the “Meeting on Advancing the Work on Industrial and Informatization Standards” in Beijing. The meeting released the “2017 List of Demonstration Projects of Group Standard Application”, among which was the group standard of Tire Grading Standard released by China Rubber Industry Association (CRIA). The standard achieved remarkable application effects, thus winning praise of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

Tire Grading Standard and Regulations on Tire Label Management are two group standards released by CRIA on June 15, 2016. It was officially implemented from September 15, 2016, when online declaration and management platform of tire labels opened to businesses. Based on the principles of voluntary declaration, and registration, review, management and approval by the association, 47 tire companies in total have by now registered their information on the management platform. After verification, 108 tire labels have been issued.

By organizing the “June 15 Green Tire Safety Week” activity, intensively displaying labeled tires, and devoting more efforts to media publicity, CRIA has led green manufacturing of companies and green tire consumption, playing an important role in promoting healthy competition of the tire market, accelerating product structure adjustment and company transformation and upgrading, as well as achieving the industrialization of green tires.

It is learned that CRIA has by now released nine group standards, which include Tire Grading Standard, Regulations on Tire Label Management, Carbon Black Industry Access Technology Specification, General Technical Specification for Pre-dispersion Rubber Chemicals and a series of group standards of Requirements on the Limited Quantity of Green Materials for Shoes (in five parts).
