EUG/PP TPV Was Successfully Developed
Date:2017/07/04    Author: -    From: China Rubber Journal

In recent years, the EUG research team of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology has successively carried out research on making thermoplastic elastomers out of Eucommia Ulmoides Gum/Polyethylene (EUG/PP, EUG/POE), and it has successfully developed EUG/PP TPV with obviously improved impact-resistance performance.

Research results show that in the dynamically vulcanized EUG/PP blend system, as the content of EUG increases, the impact intensity of the blend increases substantially and the problem of large permanent deformation of Polyolefin Elastomers (POE) is improved significantly. When the rubber-plastic ratio of EUG/PP is 7:3, the gained TPV impact intensity is almost three times as much as that of the test sample of a rubber-plastic ratio of 3:7. Through the thermo gravimetric analysis, an increase in the EUG content is conducive to maintaining the thermostability of polymers.

The development of EUG/PP TPV has effectively expanded the fields of POE application. On the premise of guaranteeing no decline in mechanical properties, the prepared TPV has good plastic property allowing repeated manufacturing and also ageing resistance at the same time.

The above TPV materials can be widely applied to automobile, aviation and aerospace, instruments and meters as well as damping vibration attenuation fields.
