Import & Export Situation of Chinese Carbon Black in 2016

According to the statistics of the General Administration of Customs, the import volume of Chinese carbon black was 90,600 tons in 2016, which increased by 7.7% on year-on-year basis (similarly hereinafter); while the export volume was 734,200 tons, which increased by 0.1%.

1. Analysis on Import Situation

From the perspective of countries, the import volume proportion was respectively shown as follows: America accounted for 22.5%, which increased by 17.9%; Korea accounted for 19.0%, which decreased by 6.5%; Japan accounted for 15.0%, which increased by 14.3%; and Taiwan, China accounted for 8.6%, which decreased by 9.3%.

From the perspective of import customs, the import volume proportion was respectively shown as follows: Shanghai Customs accounted for 31.7%, which increased by 16.7%; Guangdong Customs accounted for 25.2%, which increased by 3.6%; Jiangsu Customs accounted for 9.2%, which decreased by 17.8%; and Tianjin Customs accounted for 8.1%, which increased by 28.1%.

From the perspective of mode of trade, the import volume by general trade way accounted for 82.2% of the total import volume, which increased by 15.7%; and the import volume by processing trade of imported materials accounted for 16.1%, which decreased by 18.4%.

2. Analysis on Export Volume Situation

From the perspective of countries, the export volume proportion was respectively shown as follows: Thailand accounted for 25.7%, which increased by 26.5%; Indonesia accounted for 18.4%, which increased by 20.9%; Japan accounted for 9.0%, which decreased by 17.6%; India accounted for 7.8%, which decreased by 20.0%; Vietnam accounted for 8.7%, which increased by 21.1%; and Taiwan, China accounted for 7.4%, which decreased by 10.4%.

From the perspective of export customs, the export volume proportion was respectively shown as follows: Jiangxi Customs accounted for 30.4%, which decreased by 10.9%; Shandong Customs accounted for 19.6%, which increased by 2.3%; Shanxi Customs accounted for 10.7%, which increased by 30.1%; Hebei Customs accounted for 9.5%, which decreased by 4.3%; and Jiangsu Customs accounted for 9.1%, which decreased by 1.3%.

From the perspective of mode of trade, the export mainly focused on general trade way, and the export volume accounted for 99.8% of the total export volume, which decreased by 0.01%.
