Lately, the project of annually manufacturing 20 million motor vehicle inner tubes and 2.4 million golf balls of Qingdao Nexen Rubber Co., Ltd. was checked and accepted by the environmental protection authorities.

The project is located at the Busan Industrial Park in Jiangshan Town, Laixi City. It involved a total investment of RMB 176 Million Yuan. RMB 4.33 Million Yuan was invested in building the environmental protection facilities supporting the project, accounting for 2.46% of the total investment. The fixed number of labor force is 550. By monitoring of professional institutions, the particulate matter, non-methane hydrocarbon, etc. emitted by the exhaust funnels of the Company during processes such as vulcanization, refining, spray paint imprinting, making of talcum powder for inner tubes, inner tube shaping and inner tube extrusion all meet requirements of GB16297-1996; meanwhile, the emission of particulate matter meets the requirements set by the Integrated Emission Standard for Atmospheric Particulates Emitted by Stationary Sources of Shandong Province (DB37/1996-2011); the organized odor concentration and sulfuretted hydrogen meet requirements on the limit value set by the GB 14554-1993 standard; and the organized emission of methylbenzene and xylene meets the requirement of GB27632-2011 in aggregate.

It is know that 9,240 tons of butyl rubber, 4,950 tons of EPDM, 5,940 tons of recycled butyl rubber and 10,600 tons of carbon black are purchased outside annually for the inner tube project of the Company. The demanded quantity of synthetic rubber is 61.77 tons and that of cross-linking agent ZDA is 21.18 tons, which are main raw materials for the golf project.
