On September 13, Cabot Corporation announced that it planned to establish a brand new applicable and innovative laboratory near its Asia-Pacific headquarters in Shanghai. This Asia Technology Center will support all businesses of Cabot in the Asia-Pacific region by means of its infrastructure and laboratory while playing a key role in the company’s efforts in constantly providing its clients worldwide with world-leading and innovative materials.

The center will be equipped with first-class analytical instruments and application test equipment. In the earlier stage, over 30 researchers and scientists with superb skills and capabilities will be employed to co-operate closely with the global R&D team of Cabot. In addition, the center will also create an atmosphere that is beneficial to promoting the best practice and to enhancing exchange of creative ideas across businesses, thus boosting its cooperation with clients.

The Asia Technology Center will boast new technologies and be equipped with cutting-edge test instruments to provide clients with world-class technologies and services, and to more satisfactorily meet the unique needs of clients in China and the rest of Asia in terms of a series of key applications. The laboratory will support all product series of Cabot by virtue of clients’ testing capability and development capacity in application, including activated carbon, rubber carbon black and special carbon black, fumed metal oxides, master batch and conductive compounds and concentrates, inkjet color paste, etc. The laboratory will also set up a product exhibition hall in an effort to further improve client experience and to showcase the R&D ability and innovations of Cabot.
