Lately, Hefei State Hi-tech Industry Development Zone, Anhui Province awarded and praised some outstanding enterprises for their great contribution in “advancing quality and efficiency, driving innovation, transformation and upgrading and quality and credibility” in 2015. Continental Tires China Co., Ltd. was honored with two awards including Outstanding Contribution Award (including two sub-categories: High Growth and Quality Award and Foreign Exchange Earning Award) and Award for Advancing Quality and Efficiency.

The High Growth and Quality Award is granted to those top 10 industrial enterprises for tax contributions and for output value with a year-on-year increase to some extend at the same time in the current year, while Continental Tires came third. The Foreign Exchange Earning Award is granted to the enterprises with the import-export value exceeding USD 10 Million and an increase of more than 20% in the current year, while Continental Tires was placed twelfth.

The Award for Advancing Quality and Efficiency is granted for those top 10 enterprises in the list of total completed investment in the technical transformation projects for upgrading and rebuilding enterprises and improving the intelligent manufacturing in the current year, in which Continental Tires ranked the first place.

The 3rd-phrase Extension Project of Continental Tires China Co., Ltd. commenced in November 2015. Continental Tires plan to invest EUR 250 Million in the next two years. At that time, the total investment of Continental Group in the tire plant in Hefei will reach up to EUR 570 Million and the plant capacity will expand to 14 million units/year.
