The volatile organic compounds discharged by Bridgestone (Tianjin) Tire Co., Ltd. are listed in the key treatment projects of Tianjin “2015 Fresh Air Action Plan”. This company intends to invest RMB 38.01 Million Yuan to purchase 17 fume treatment facilities totally for the treatment of organic waste gas emitted in such procedures as banbury- ing, calendaring, extrusion and vulcanization.
It is learned that the technical transformation project is predicted to be completed in January of the next year, main- ly to assemble the gas-collecting hood in the sidewall ex- truder head, triangle rubber extruder head, compatible line extruder head and tread extruder head for collecting waste gas to the waste gas treatment device, and assemble a vent pipe in the rubber latex room for delivering the waste gas to the waste gas treatment device. There is a gas-collecting hood in the current vulcanizing workshop, and waste gas is discharged through the draught fan at the top of the work- shop. Finally, the waste gas collected in the gas-collecting hood is transported to the waste gas treatment device for disposal.
The predecessor of Bridgestone Tianjin Plant is “Tianjin Kumho Tire Co., Ltd.”, a Sino-Korean joint venture founded in 1995. In January 2001, the management right of Kumbo Company was vested in Japan Bridgestone Co., Ltd., and Kumbo was renamed to Bridgestone (Tianjin) Tire Co., Ltd. as a Sino-Japanese joint venture invested by Tianjin Bohai Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Bridgestone (Chi- na) Investment Co., Ltd. (Now the Chinese party and the Japanese party respectively hold 5.53% and 94.47% of the shares). Located in Shuangjie Town, Beichen District, Tianjin City, the plant covers an area of about 249,000 m2 with the total building area of about 140,000 m2, afforestation area of 49,800 m2 and afforestation rate of 20%. Now there are 1,723 employees in this company, mainly engaged in the research, development and production of radial tires. At present, the gross production capacity of radial tires in this plant is 8.3344 million units/year. Thereinto, the production capacity of two new high-end tires “ECOPIA” and “BLIZZAK” intro- duced to China for the production and sales in 2011 is 3.0184 million units/year.
