Chairman Yu Zhengsheng is visiting Xiangxi Laodie Bio-technology Co., Ltd.

The first set of 100-ton continuous natural gutta-precha produc- tion device was recently completed and put into operation in Hunan Xiangxi Laodie Bio-technology Co., Ltd. This marked that Chinese natural gutta-percha extraction had climbed to a new level, and it would accumulate valuable experience and lay a good foundation for the scale development of national natural gatta-percha, said the expert group of Eucommia Ulmoides Industry Alliance.

This production line is the first enterprise self-developed 100- ton line in China that can continuously extract natural gutta-percha from raw eucommia ulmoides seed shell, the device of which adopts continuous counter-current pipe technique and makes use of organic solvent. Thus, the extracted natural gutta-percha has high purity and the line has high production automation.

In order to market the gutta-percha products as quickly as possible, this company has successively provided the gutta-percha manufactured by middle-sized device to such domestic enterprises as tire, high-speed rail & auto parts and sports shoes for application test when it is tackling the construction problems of the gutta-percha industrializing device in the meanwhile. Upon test, the tear resist- ance, aging resistance, fatigue durability, abrasive resistance, flexing

resistance and other mechanical properties of the aircraft tire success- fully trial-produced by Shenyang University of Chemical Technology and Shenyang Sanxiang Tire Co., Ltd. with the additive of natural gutta-percha have been improved, especially for the flexing resist- ance. Besides, the shock-absorbing parts of high-speed rail made by Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. with natural gutta-percha offered by this company exhibit outstanding fatigue du- rability and tearing resistance.

It is known that the manufacture of gutta-percha has been at- tached great importance by the state. The National Development and Reform Commission put it on the list of industrial revitalization projects for special supporting in 2013. Yu Zhengsheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC, vis- ited Xiangxi Laodie Bio-technology Co., Ltd. on November 16. After listening the report of Wang Xiaoqing, Chairman of Xiangxi Laodie, Mr. Yu said that he hoped Xiangxi Laodie would cultivate good eu- commia ulmoides and other resources in Wuling Mountain Area, con- tinuously make new achievements through technological innovation and coordinately promote the specific poverty alleviation in Xiangxi region so as to strengthen and enlarge eucommia ulmoides industry and other relative industries.
