On 22 September 2016 Doublestar Europe Ltd was registered as a UK company based in London. Tyres & Accessories understands that the company is a joint venture between Zenises and growing Chinese tyremaker Qingdao Doublestar designed to bring Chinese products into European markets.

According to our Italian sister publication PneusNews.it, the Doublestar Europe joint venture will see the London and Dubai-based Zenises concentrate on marketing and commercialisation of Doublestar products, while Doublestar will make its extensive catalogue of tyres covering all segments of market, agriculture, truck, to car available to the JV.

According to official documents filed at Companies House, Doublestar Europe Ltd was incorporated on 22 September 2016 and names Zenises chief executive Harjeev Kandhari and European general manager Jorge Crespo as directors alongside a number of Chinese executives that were appointed a month later on 21 October. The list of those executives includes Shengri Gao who also serves as deputy general manager and director at Chinese listed company Qingdao Doublestar Co., Ltd.

So far neither Zenises nor Doublestar has officially acknowledged the company’s existence to Tyres & Accessories.
