Recently, CNOOC Oil & Gas (Taizhou) Petrochemicals Co., Ltd. developed a new method for quickly and exactly measuring the oil content in oil-extended thermoplastic elastomer SBS.
Firstly, measure the extraction quantity of the unit mass of thermoplastic elastomer SBS that can be extracted by the high selective extraction solvent-petroleum ether before oil-extended; secondly, extract the oil-extracted thermoplastic elastomer SBS with the high selective extraction solvent-petroleum ether and measure the total extraction content; then subtract the content of the thermoplastic elastomer SBS dissolved in the high selective extraction solvent-petroleum ether before oil-extracted from the total extraction content, and the resultant difference value shall be the measured value of the oil content of the oil-extended SBS.
