Sumitomo Rubber Industries will invest $100 million in its South African factory, the Asian Review reports.

The tiremaker will expand on its facility in the KwaZulu-Natal province, which was purchased from Apollo Tyres in 2013. Currently the site produces 9,600 tires a day, but Sumitomo plans to increase daily output to 12,200 tires in 2016 and eventually 14,500 tires in 2017, Asian Review said.

Sumitomo plans on exporting tires from the South African factory to all of Africa under the Dunlop brand name.
