Commerce Department of USA delays China duties deadline
Date:2014/08/18    Author: -    From: 中国橡胶网

The Department of Commerce is delaying until Nov. 21 the deadline for the International Trade Administration to issue its preliminary determination of whether Chinese tire makers are selling consumer tires in the U.S. at less than fair market value.

Commerce stated in a notice in the Aug. 14 Federal Register that “the number and nature of the subsidy programs under investigation would prevent the Department from adequately examining them by the current deadline.”

The deadline referenced was Sept. 17.

Commerce said its decision is in response to a petition from the United Steelworkers union—the original petitioner—on July 25.

The action is in accordance with section 703(c)(l)(A) of the Tariff Act of 1930, which allows Commerce to postpone its preliminary determination.
