Germany specialty chemical company LANXESS received two awards recently in recognition of the company’s leadership in fulfilling corporate social responsibility and developing in an environment-compatible way.

Out of more than 300 companies, LANXESS won the GoldenBee Leading Enterprises Award in Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll from China WTO Tribune to recognize the company’s significant efforts to realizing sustainable development of China’s automotive industry with its green tire technology and innovation solutions customized for tire makers.

Studies show that 20% to 30% of a vehicle’s fuel consumption and 24% of road vehicle’s CO2 emissions are related to tires. High-performance rubber and technology know-how from LANXESS enable green tires with low-rolling resistance, thus making contributions to climate protection by reducing fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

China WTO Tribune is supervised by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China. The Golden Bee CSR China Honor Roll has gained wide attention in its seven years history.

LANXESS also achieved the Best Green Company Award from “Salute to China Dream” China Finance Summit. The summit is jointly organized by many domestic media and gathered business leaders from various sectors of the society to discuss hot topics in China economic development and pay tribute to companies that make contributions to China’s sustainable development. LANXESS stood out among more than 400 companies as its corporate responsibility goes towards suppliers, customers and other business partners along the whole value chain from raw materials, production to transportation and product applications.

LANXESS has made social responsibility part of its growth strategy and won various awards in this area. In 2013, LANXESS received the honor of “Responsible Care Model” and “Technology innovation Model” jointly awarded by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China Chemical Industry News. The company was also honored with Association of International Chemical Manufacturers (AICM) Responsible Care Chairman Award.
