LANXESS, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of synthetic rubber, has undertaken a complete rebranding of its butyl rubber products. A package encompassing a global ability to deliver products anywhere, anytime, extensive technical expertise, a focus on innovative solutions and customer demands – all this is what the new LANXESS X_Butyl brand stands for.
The new brand family is called X_Butyl
All existing product grades have been renamed, for example Regular Butyl 301 is now called LANXESS X_Butyl RB 301.
Bromobutyl 2030 has become LANXESS X_Butyl BB 2030.
And Chlorobutyl 1240 has been renamed to LANXESS X_Butyl CB 1240.
Strong online presence
The new website comes in a user friendly design and one-click navigation to access most of the featured content. It contains a broad range of information on X_Butyl products, developments and applications, as well as an improved customer service portal.
Fresh start to the “LANXESS World of X_Butyl”
This section of the website displays an overview of the new branding and simplified nomenclature. It also shows the interested visitor our geographic setup and the location of relevant contact points.

The homepage features relevant and latest information e.g. on the new production facility in Singapore. Our regulatory section contains information about product compliance and sustainability.
In the “About us” section, the Butyl Rubber business unit presents itself, its history and its sites. It also contains a table with explanations of the new product names and information on the new website.
The “Products & Applications” section features a product search function, exemplary applications for our X_Butyl and in-depth information on the different product family and grades.
