When RSP Inc. opened a third facility in China, it marked the latest example of the company's rapid growth. The rubber and plastic products maker has averaged an annual 25 percent increase in sales during the last three years, and about 40 percent in 2012.
RSP opened a 15,000-sq.-ft. facility in Shenzhen, China, in March, the third plant that it operates in the city. The new factory is being used for engineering, quality and design work, housing several engineers. The increased demand for assembly work means that the China-based plants, which employ about 225 full-time employees, should remain busy. The company manufactures a full range of rubber and plastics products, including membrane switches, graphic overlays, silicone keypads, circuit boards, printed graphics and molded goods, among others. RSP has thrived in the last few years because it was able to weather the rough years of 2007-09 without any loss in sales.
