Adhesives specialist Bostik Inc. has inaugurated its new adhesives and sealants factory in Changshu.
The 750,000-sq.-ft. plant, which went online in late 2012, manufactures hot-melt adhesives, polyurethane and sealants, for the disposable hygiene, packaging, transport and textile markets. The eventual capacity is estimated at 80,000 tons per year.
A company official said Bostik has been present in China for 15 years, where it employs more than 500. The plant in Changshu is the company's third in China and largest in the world.
As part of its global growth strategy, Bostik opened the Asia technical center in 2011 in Shanghai—one of three research and development technical centers based on three continents: Asia, Europe and the U.S.
