——Meilin Sub-district Awarded “The Hometown of China (Meilin) Rubber Plastic

and Auto Parts Industry” by CRIA

Beijing (May 10, 2012) - On April 26, “The Second China Automotive Rubber and Plastic Products Technology and Market Development Seminar” organized by China Rubber Industry Association was held in Ninghai County, Zhejiang Province. Over 140 experts, scholars and entrepreneurs at home discussed about such topics as opportunities, challenges and strategies of the development of China rubber industry under the new situation, status of China auto industry in 2011 and development trend in 2012 and current situation and development of China rubber, plastic and auto parts products, introduced the new materials of rubber, plastic and auto parts products such as rubber and plastic products deodorant used in car and the TPV applied in automobile materials. 

At the Seminar, Ninghai Meilin Sub-district was awarded “The Hometown of China (Meilin) Rubber, Plastic and Auto Parts Industry” by CRIA.

As one of the pillar industries of Zhejiang Ninghai County, rubber, plastic and auto parts industry has gotten obvious regional advantages after nearly 20 years’ development. The rubber, plastic and auto parts products include oil seals, sealing articles, anti-vibration articles, braking systems, ignition systems, piping systems, driving belts and engines, among which, some are matched to automobile enterprises such as Beijing Benz Automotive, FAW-Volkswagen Automotive, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, and Changan Ford Automobile directly and realized output value of about RMB 5.6 billion yuan RMB in 2011.

Meilin Sub-district is the centralized production region of Ninghai rubber, plastic and auto parts. In 2011, 133 rubber, plastic and auto parts enterprises in Meilin Sub-district realized the industrial output value of RMB 2.9 billion yuan RMB, accounting for 52% of the auto parts output value of the whole county, among which, the sales revenue of 5 enterprises have exceeded one hundred million yuan RMB. This region has large development potential and the enterprises above designated sizes all passed the ISO Series Quality System Certification and become one of the main production bases of China rubber, plastic and auto parts.

In order to promote the industrial development, currently, Meilin Sub-district has planned to establish auto parts mall with an area of 2,000 mu, to establish new auto parts park with an area of 500 mu, and to build a batch of components and parts suppliers with independent development abilities and abilities to develop the finished automobile synchronously.

Representatives visited the rubber, plastic and auto parts enterprises in Meilin Sub-district, Ningbo Jiebao Group Co., Ltd., Ningbo Yongxin Auto Components Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and also visited the Ningbo International Auto Mall after the Seminar. There is a special exhibition hall of rubber, plastic and auto parts in Ninghai.
