Requests for new Department of Transportation tire plant identity codes, required for selling passenger and truck tires in the U.S., fell to just a dozen in 2012.

Goodyear planning to close northern French tire plant
Goodyear is preparing to close a French plant employing 1,250 workers near the northern city of Amiens, a French government official is quoted as saying on 25 January by Reuters.
